Reimagining Our 1942 Home

When we approached the redesign of our own 1942 home, our goal was never to erase its history. We wanted to preserve the character and sense of place that made us love the house in the first place, while thoughtfully reworking it for the way we live today.

We looked at the home as a whole—rethinking the flow between rooms, improving how the spaces function, and making deliberate architectural and material choices that feel appropriate to the house without trying to recreate the past. Where changes were needed, we wanted them to feel intentional and natural, as though they had always belonged. We designed and visualized every space using our 3D software. Since we had all of our selections defined during the design process the project was completed smoothly and quickly in months, not years.

The result is a home that respects its 1942 roots but lives comfortably in the present—and reflects the same thoughtful, whole-home approach we bring to our clients’ projects. We can help you do the same with your home.
